Falling in Love with the Spirit

October 20, 2026 - Halloween is one of those love or hate holidays. Most people either can't wait for a new "Spirit of Halloween" store to pop up in their neighborhood or couldn't care less.

But today, I don't want to talk about the Spirit of Halloween - I just want to talk about the Spirit of God and how we can embrace it more fully in our lives.

  1. Let gratitude be a part of your daily life. Acknowledge God each and every day.
  2. Look to God in prayer everyday. Talk to Him and share your joys and sorrows.
  3. You are a child of God and so is everyone around you. When relationships or interactions are difficult, remember that for the most part, everyone is just doing the very best they can.
  4. Because God knows you better than anyone else, trust that He knows what He is doing. Be sensitive to His promptings to lead you where you need to be.
  5. Learn to love the Spirit of God, even when things are happening as or when we would like.

God is in the details of our lives. Seek for His Spirit and your life will be filled with wonder, joy, and happiness.

Iron Rod Press Newsletter Vol. 2, No. 46 Grateful Greetings Part 2 November 17, 2026 - As I sit down to write this newsletter, I am not feeling at all grateful. I have allowed myself to get overwhelmed by first world problems (all connected to technology) and can't see past my computer screen. That's when my husband reminded me that I do have so much to be grateful for - the gospel of Jesus Christ, the life that God has given me, and even the "bozo" (him!) that I am fortunate to be married...
