Grateful Greetings Part 1

November 10, 2026 - Sometimes we may wonder why be grateful when we have so many challenges around us. But once we understand our "Y" we can be grateful under any circumstances.

Is this hard for you to believe? I admit, that at times, it's hard for me swallow as well.

So, what can we do when feeling gratitude does not come as easily as we would like? Here are a few ideas to help.

  1. Understanding our why for feeling grateful is paramount. Why should you feel grateful? Consider this question from a practical as well as a spiritual perspective.
  2. Think back on a difficult time in your life. Can you feel grateful for the experience and what you learned from it?
  3. Now consider whatever challenge you care currently going through. Is there a place for gratitude?
  4. If finding gratitude for your present challenge seems impossible, can you be open to the possibility of being grateful in the future for this present situation?
  5. Prayer is a mighty resource to finding gratitude in difficult times. Put your trust in Him, knowing that He knows what is best for you.

Whatever is going on in your life, find your why to being grateful. Life may still be challenging, but it can also be filled with joy.

If you live in the United States and are celebrating Thanksgiving this week, what is on the menu? A quick AI search says that 46 million turkeys will be eaten this year by 88% of...

Iron Rod Press Newsletter Vol. 2, No. 46 Grateful Greetings Part 2 November 17, 2026 - As I sit down to write this newsletter, I am not feeling at all grateful. I have allowed myself to get overwhelmed by first world problems (all connected to technology) and can't see past my computer screen. That's when my husband reminded me that I do have so much to be grateful for - the gospel of Jesus Christ, the life that God has given me, and even the "bozo" (him!) that I am fortunate to be married...
