Welcome to Season's Greetings

November 3, 2026 - This is the season of holidays! Are you ready? What are you looking forward to and how can you make this season a more memorable one with those you love?

Starting with the Day of the Dead, which was just celebrated, we are moving into what is referred to as the Holiday Season.

While this can be a stressful time in many ways, it can also be a time of peace if we are prepared. Here are a few ways to welcome this season with joyful greetings this year.

  1. Don't say yes to every invitation. Choose the activities that are going to to add to your joy, not take away from it.
  2. Do you really need to buy presents for everyone this year? Financial strain can put a huge burden on us this time of year. Instead of buying gifts for those you feel a need to give to, how about offering a gift of service? It will be just as appreciated and remembered long after the season.
  3. What activities will bring peace to your spirit over the next couple of months? Be sure and schedule those events that will make a difference in your life.
  4. Being around people this time of year can be both a blessing and a drain. While you may need to interact with those who walk around under their own little black rain cloud, think of three people who uplift your spirits and give you energy. Make sure you schedule time to be with them before the end of the year.
  5. Make a conscious effort to greet this season with joyful anticipation instead of dread. Your attitude will make all the difference.

As I was writing this week's newsletter, the word "joy" kept popping up. You cannot control everything that goes on around you, but you can do your part to bring more joy into your life and those you love.

While I am feeling quite grateful this month (re-read the last two newsletters), I'm also feeling lazy. So, why not re-use what worked well 12 months ago! Enjoy! Iron Rod Press Newsletter Vol. 2, No. 46 Grateful Greetings Part 2 November 17, 2026 - As I sit down to write this newsletter, I am not feeling at all grateful. I have allowed myself to get overwhelmed by first world problems (all connected to technology) and can't see past my computer screen. That's when my husband reminded me that I do have so much to be grateful for - the gospel of Jesus Christ, the life that God has given me, and even the "bozo" (him!) that I am fortunate to be married...
