Reflecting God's Light

September 1, 2026 - Seeing myself in a mirror is not always a pleasant experience. I see my wrinkles, my rolls, my grey hair and wonder where my divine nature as a daughter of God went.

Then I remember that more than my physical appearance, is the importance of my spiritual appearance - one that with His help, I can reflect to bless the lives of others.

It's not always easy, but here are a few thoughts of how we can reflect God's light even when darkness surrounds us.

1. Keep in mind that at any given time, someone may be watching us and how we are responding to a given situation. What example can you set to lift another's burden today?
2. In order to reflect God's light, we must first have God's light in us. What can you do to increase His influence in your life?
3. Think back to a time when you were inspired by someone. What was it that made that interaction so meaningful?
4. Little children, and adults who are as little children, are especially susceptible to the actions of others. How can you be more Christlike in your responses to others?
5. Lastly, just as we can reflect light, we can also pass along darkness. Be mindful of your thoughts towards or about others. Even unspoken feelings can have a negative impact on those around us.

There is so much good we can do in the world. Make this day one that is full of light.
