Your Weekly Dose of Inspiration: Step By Step - Vol. 2, No. 32

Iron Rod Press Newsletter Vol. 2, No. 32

Step By Step

August 11, 2026 - Every journey begins with a single step. Sounds simple, doesn't it.

But the reality is that sometimes that first step can be the hardest. We allow fear and doubt to creep in - convincing us that our plans are foolish or impossible.

But you'll never know until you try. Because it's easy to get overwhelmed when looking ahead, let's take a look at what you can do to take that first step and make your journey a reality.

  1. Every task, project, or worthy goal is made up of many parts and pieces. Grab a piece of paper and divide your task into smaller and more manageable parts.
  2. Consider one thing you can do today - no matter how small - to move you closer to your goal.
  3. Now do the same thing over and over again, checking off each small task off as you accomplish it.
  4. There is nothing wrong with rewarding yourself along the way. There is no need to wait until the end of the journey to celebrate.
  5. Never forget that more often than not, the journey is the destination. It's not just about arriving but what you learn along the way.

So, lace up those boots, slip on those sandals and get moving. You'll never get where you want to go until you do.

Iron Rod Press Newsletter Vol. 2, No. 37 Falling in Love with Learning September 15, 2026 - Nothing says fall more than back to school. I know I'm going to date myself here, but sharpened No. 2 pencils, the smell of textbooks, Pee-Chee folders, and the latest fashion brings on an excitement I can't explain. Which is odd, because I graduated from high school nearly 50 years ago! Later as an adult, I taught junior high French and felt that same enthusiasm. I realize now that the whatever I was...

Iron Rod Press Newsletter Vol. 2, No. 36 Falling in Love with Fall September 8, 2026 - Welcome to my new series, "Falling in Love with Fall." There is something about this season which stirs my soul. For me, autumn is that comfortable place between hot summers and chilly winters. I love the idea of grabbing a sweater and hot drink, and settling in for an early Christmas video. The idea of nesting, creating a space of coziness is more than just a good idea, it's a great one! But what about...

Iron Rod Press Newsletter Vol. 2, No. 35 Reflecting God's Light September 1, 2026 - Seeing myself in a mirror is not always a pleasant experience. I see my wrinkles, my rolls, my grey hair and wonder where my divine nature as a daughter of God went. Then I remember that more than my physical appearance, is the importance of my spiritual appearance - one that with His help, I can reflect to bless the lives of others. It's not always easy, but here are a few thoughts of how we can reflect God's...
